iOS 17 is the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, released on September 18, 2023. It is available for all iPhone models released since the iPhone 7.

New Messages features: Messages have many new features, including undoing sent messages, editing sent messages, and marking messages as unread. You can also now share photos and videos directly to Messages from other apps.
New Mail features: Mail has many new features, including the ability to schedule emails to be sent later, undo sent emails, and add reminders to emails. You can now search for emails by sender, recipient, or subject line and easily filter out unwanted emails.
New Maps features: Maps has many new features, including the ability to create and share guides, view live traffic conditions, and get walking directions with augmented reality.
New Health features: Health has many new features, including tracking your sleep quality, heart rate variability, and blood oxygen levels. You can now share your health data with your doctor or other healthcare providers.
In addition to these new features, iOS 17 also includes a number of performance improvements and bug fixes.
A closer look at some of the key features of iOS 17
New lock screen
The new lock screen in iOS 17 is more informative and customizable than ever. You can now add widgets to the lock screen to see information at a glance without unlocking your phone. For example, add a widget to see the current weather, your upcoming calendar events, or your activity rings from the Fitness app. You can also change the font and color of the text on the lock screen and choose from various new wallpapers.

Messages have many new features in iOS 17, including the ability to undo sent messages, edit sent messages, and mark messages as unread. You can also now share photos and videos directly to Messages from other apps.
To undo a sent message, tap and hold on the news and then tap on Undo Send. You have up to 15 minutes to undo a sent message. To edit a sent message, tap and hold on the news and then tap on Edit. You have up to 15 minutes to edit a sent message. To mark a message as unread, swipe left on the message and then tap on Mark as Unread.
