Gachi Angeles is a Peruvian actress who was born in Lima on September 16, 2002. She grew up in the Villa Naval de San Borja, where her father worked in the navy, and she had to use her imagination to keep herself entertained in the sterile environment. A chance encounter with a photographer who was looking for children with personality led to her first modeling job, and soon she was appearing in commercials and plays.

One of her earliest memorable roles was as Leandra in “Los Otros Libertadores,” a play that retold the story of “María parado de bellido,” which was culturally significant for Peruvians. Her other notable role was as Bella in “Running to Stand Still.”

However, the most challenging role she has ever played is Nina in Chekhov’s “The Seagull.” She studied Method Acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute and had the opportunity to play Nina. The play requires a lot of atmospheric and sensory work, and Nina’s internal life is abundant. It was a challenge that she thoroughly enjoyed.

One of her inspirations as an actress is Gena Rowlands, particularly her work in “A Woman Under the Influence.” Gachi admires Rowlands’ ability to bring such raw emotion to her performances.

Gachi most memorable moment in her career was playing the daughter of Magaly Solier, the winner of the Golden Bear and an acclaimed actress, in Los Otros Libertadores.” The project was culturally significant for Peruvians, and it was an honor to be a part of it.

Currently, Gachi has several projects in the works, including “Life in LA,” produced by Gary Michael Walters. She can’t share many details yet, but she is excited about it.

When preparing for a new role, Gachi immerses herself in the character and the story. She is a Method Actress and does a lot of emotional and sensory work combined with physical impulses. She takes her time to enter and stay in character.

Her advice to young people who want to enter the world of acting is to act as much as possible and enjoy it. They shouldn’t be afraid to take risks and should trust their instincts.

As for the representation and diversity in the film and television industry, Gachi believes it’s progressing. She cites the success of “Everything Everywhere All At Once” as an example of the system recognizing that there are diverse talents and stories to tell. Gachi is thrilled to see the recognition that international films are receiving in the United States.

In conclusion, Gachi is a talented and dedicated actress who is passionate about her craft. She is excited about the future of the film and television industry and is looking forward to being a part of it.
