A U.K.-based company announced financial results on Thursday. OnlyFans’ net revenue increased 160% to $932 million, and it earned pre-tax profits of $433 million (up from $61 million in 2020).
As of 2022, OnlyFans creators earned $3.86 billion, an increase of 115% from the previous year, bringing the company’s payments to creators to over $8 billion. For the year ended November 2022, OnlyFans’ gross revenue (i.e., fan payments net of taxes) more than doubled to $4.8 billion. Creators keep 80% of the revenue generated by their accounts, while the company takes 20%.
“We are empowering creators to monetize their content and have real control over it with our creator-first approach,” OnlyFans CEO Amrapali “Ami” Gan said.
Gan, who previously served as OnlyFans’ chief marketing officer, assumed the CEO role after the founder resigned in 2021.
One of OnlyFans’ strategic priorities is maintaining its brand “outside of traditional verticals” — particularly in new markets and by promoting OFTV, its free streaming service that excludes pornography.
