The fashion industry is currently going through a period of significant change and transformation. The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted the industry, causing disruptions in the supply chain, changes in consumer behavior, and financial challenges for many fashion brands. In partial response to trends resulting from the pandemic, the industry has had to shift its focus toward sustainability and social responsibility. Consumers are becoming more conscious of the environmental and social impact of their purchases, and many fashion brands are responding by prioritizing sustainable and ethical practices.

Another notable change in the industry is the complete ascension of e-commerce and digital fashion. With more people shopping online, fashion brands are investing heavily in digital technologies, such as virtual try-on and augmented reality, to enhance the online shopping experience. The industry is also becoming more inclusive, with many brands increasing their size ranges and offering more diverse models in their campaigns. However, there is still much work to be done in terms of diversity and inclusivity, as many people feel underrepresented in the industry.

Nancy Ortiz is a name synonymous with success in the fashion industry. Born and raised in Washington Heights, Nancy comes from humble beginnings as the daughter of hardworking Dominican parents. Growing up in a household with a strong single mother and three siblings, Nancy quickly learned that life was not easy and that to achieve success, she had to fight for it.

Inspired by her mother’s passion, kindness, and open communication, Nancy held onto those values as she navigated the fashion industry. In 1996, Nancy moved to Miami and began her career as a receptionist at Women Management under the guidance of Paul Rowland. Her infectious energy, boldness, and drive quickly caught the attention of Paul Rowland, who promoted her to work as an agent on his team.

Throughout her career, Nancy worked with some of the most renowned talent in the industry, including Candice Swanepoel, Eva Herzigova, Devon Aoki, and Stella Maxwell, just to name a few. In 2020, Nancy joined The Lions Management team, where she currently serves as Co-Director of the agency.

Nancy’s determination to face problems head-on, her unwavering honesty, her ability to excel in any environment, and her rapturous laughter are some of the qualities that make her one of the most well-known people in her field. As a Latina woman, Nancy has championed diverse representation in the fashion industry and hopes to make space for and uplift other Latina women like herself.

Nancy’s journey to success serves as an inspiration to many who face similar struggles. She proves that with hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude, anything is possible. Her message to aspiring individuals in the fashion industry is simple: “I can look around at every amazing person I’ve met and worked within our industry and feel grateful for every one. What a ride!” Nancy’s infectious energy and drive continue to inspire and pave the way for future generations in the fashion industry.
